We believe that by offering a combination of these two programs, our students will establish a unique and well-rounded experience in their academia and individual talents.

Pearson Edexcel iPrimary
Literacy has a central place in our learning experience. Our learning approach for 3 to 11-year-olds is aligned to the latest education practices and designed to meet the needs of today’s global learners. Bug club is our core reading program mapped to iPrimary, which helps children learn to read. We use Power writing programme for 7-11 year – olds to develops creative writing alongside technical skills through a genre‑based approach.
The Power Math is a mastery-focused programme designed to spark curiosity, excitement and nurture confidence in math. This means our learners acquire a deep, long-term, secure, and adaptable understanding of the subject.
Some of the key features of our approach in teaching math include the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) progression, number bonds, bar modeling, and mental math. Instead of pushing through rote memorization, our children learn to think mathematically and rely on the depth of knowledge gained in previous lessons.
Scientific method of inquiry sparks the imagination of our young scientists and allows them to demonstrate their capabilities while working independently. Our Project based learning approach creates an opportunity for our children to apply desired skills such as doing research. It develops the children ability to work with their peers, building teamwork, and group skills. This is achieved in a very practical way with children experiencing awe and wonder as they discover more.
Computing is taught in three main strands: information technology, digital literacy, and computer science. Students are taught e-safety to ensure that they are confident when using computers and the Internet, and know what to do if they come across something either inappropriate or uncomfortable.
We use iPrimary Global Citizenship programme which is built for 21st century learners. It is designed to fuel discussion, inspire collaboration and develop student’s ability to think critically about a wide range of global issues. Our Global Citizenship programme covers thought-provoking topics and encourages students to consider all viewpoints as they start on their journey to becoming good global citizens.
International Primary Curriculum (IPC)
Children are encouraged to find out about our planet, how it has developed and how our world is today in a practical way often using our wonderful natural environment as a resource or our excellent technology facilities to experience something virtually that may be too far for a visit!
Our weekly Personal, Social, Health & Economic (PSHE) programme sees the children study an age related curriculum geared to prepare them for the next stage of their personal development and give them an understanding about our world. PSHE underpins all aspects of school life and is a part of everything that we all do each day.
Art is studied by all children within their International Primary Curriculum, and supported by an exciting range of after-school clubs. Excellence is encouraged and recognized by displaying the students’ work prominently throughout the school.
Children are encouraged to explore our past through storytelling, role-play, visits and looking at artefacts. This engenders a desire and curiosity to find out more about our past, which will eventually enable them to understand how our world is moulded by our past.
Through design and technology, children find out about healthy diet and preparing simple meals. It also includes the more traditional design elements in which children will design, make and evaluate products while learning to use a range of tools and techniques for construction. There may also be some cross-over with Science as children incorporate levers, pulleys or electrical circuits into their designs for finished products.
Delivered daily to learners positively and encouragingly by specialist teachers and highly talented Sports Coaches ensuring that every child has the opportunity to develop and thrive. Our programme is broad but the excellence of the staff enables all the children to benefit and extend their skill base. There are regular fixtures and where possible all children are involved. Our main sports are but not limited to track and field disciplines such as football, netball, rounders, basketball, and athletics but our clubs include board games, swimming, table tennis, Ballet and gymnastics e.c.t.
Health and well-being program provides children with reliable information and deepen their understanding of the choices they face. They acquire intellectual skills required to reflect critically on these choices and on the influences that society brings to bear on them, through peer pressure, advertising, social media, and family and cultural values.
Our comprehensive approach to health and wellness goes beyond what is happening in an individual classroom, and encourages the support of the whole school and extended community as health and wellness is an effective way to improve both health and education outcomes.
Music is thriving in the school with all children receiving hands on, exciting lessons taught by specialists. Children are encouraged to learn musical instruments, with some learning more than just one instrument. Singing flourishes with regular performance opportunities and at year 2, learners can join the school band.
The children work on individual and group challenges that enable them to extend their range of performance skills. This often involve presentations to smaller and larger audience.
Languages
In an increasingly globalized world, intercultural competence is essential. It is therefore important to awaken children’s interests in other people`s cultures and languages at a time when they are open and receptive. Our children are highly motivated and enjoy lessons in French. They attain a high level of proficiency as they are taught by language specialists. An ability to understand French offers an alternative view of the world through communication with French speakers from all over the world.
The most widely spoken African language in the world, Kiswahili is spoken by millions of people in East Africa including East Congo & Northern Mozambique. The language will be offered alongside the rest of the subjects.
