To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. 

Job Description:

  •  Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a degree holder – Bachelor of Education or PGDE/Early Childhood Education for Primary School from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered with Teacher Service Commission.
  • At least three years of demonstrable teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of using ICT as a learning tool.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiar with the British curricula, especially iPrimary or Cambridge, IGCSE.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability and proven willingness to support clubs and other co-curricular activities.
  • Understands the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children.
Skills and Competence:
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Knowledgeable in modern pedagogy and demonstrable teaching practices.
  • Passionate about 21st Century teaching skills and I.T. literate.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Innovative and creative.

The Art teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in art, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.

Job Description
  • Plan curriculum documents in collaborative manner to reflect the standards and practices of the Academy in both C.B.C and the International curriculum sections.
  • Engage in effective teaching practice that embraces inquiry teaching and learning methods and differentiate activities to meet the needs of all students.
  • Authentically access, record and track the progress of all students.
  • Communicate necessary internal and external art program information to all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and participate in activities planned for all students  such as open house and physical education in coordination with the curriculum coordinator(s)
  • Attend training sessions when needed and as per the request of school management in order to enhance the understanding of both curriculums –CBC and IPC/iPrimary.
  • Performing such other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school management.
