For teachers, librarians, and other professionals working with children and teens, the Book Week program provided the theme, materials, ideas, and motivation for focusing on children’s books and reading.
Books play a quintessential role in every student’s life by introducing them to a world of imagination, providing knowledge of the outside world, improving their reading, writing, and speaking skills as well as boosting memory and intelligence. It may be the fact that every person reading the books will take a different lesson or viewpoint than the next, and we as humans desire to know and understand one another through these insights. Books also teach us life lessons that inspire us to do something good for our community.
From a series of activities geared at inspiring our young learners into reading for the joys of it and not because they have been told to. They were also awarded certificates of merit for each top performance in an activity, all teachers and learners alike were clad in costumes from their favorite book characters.
